Rafting the Dead River with North Country Rivers is an experience you will remember for a lifetime! Located in remote Maine, the river is an absolute “gem." Until more recently, it had no regularly scheduled dam releases so it was known only to locals. Even today, it doesn’t have “daily releases" like The Kennebec and Penobscot. So don’t miss a chance to raft this river – especially at high flow levels. It’s nothing short of amazing!
You begin your Dead River rafting adventure by being driven by bus into the Maine woods. During the drive on logging company roads, don’t be surprised if you see Moose, Bear, Deer, Osprey or even an Eagle. Except for all the rafters, this is a completely undeveloped portion of Maine – and it’s truly beautiful.
